What remains when even the fleeting flees? For the opening of the passage in the upper tiers of the MAO, the commissioned piece WHITE VOID #14 invites the audience to transgress the boundaries between the inside and the outside, on quiet, yet radical soles, on a daily changing polyphonic path, together with a multitude of dancers, singers, seniors, musicians, painters, light designers and animals. Based on the poem “To Music” by Rainer Maria Rilke, new audible landscapes in motion are being created daily, and lead the participants to a place away from the familiar and the established and towards the fleetingness of the moment. By means of choreography, but also through visual arts (sculpture, performance and installation) and thereby at the borders of dance, music theater and visual arts, a world of experience made up of music, images, concept, experience, light, objects, movement and space is created. Performers make music, masquerade and move. Seniors sing, tell stories, are present. Dancers crowd the spaces with peculiar physicalities and chants. Machines and objects bring haze, lights, sounds. In this manner, a dramaturgical development forms over the course of the festival FAVORITEN 2014 which tells an unexpected story of changing sentiments.
